November Newsletter

Nov 23, 2009

Please receive the November edition of the Fireaway Club Newsletter.

Newsletters are circulated bimonthly and contain details of forthcoming events and developments within the club.

Membership:
There are now a total of 94 signed up members. In addition, another batch of invitation letters were sent out in November. Hopefully, we should have over 100 members by the New Year.

Social Club Meetings:
The next meeting takes place Thursday, 26 November, Guildford bar, at 7:30pm. This is the last social of 2009, so if you've missed the last few or not been before it's an ideal meeting to come along before the festive holidays.

Sections:

Amateur (Ham) Radio Section -
See the Latest News page for details of a new section for anyone interested in amateur radio. There's also a great article from Bob Bertram which you can access via the Articles page.

Walking -
1)The trip, including an overnight stay, to Arrochar is still been considered with 2010 now the likely date, probably around March/April when the weather improves.

2)There is a December Pentland hills walk being planned. Keep watching the Latest News for details.

English Premiership Football Match -
The trip to Sunderland v Arsenal took place last Saturday (21st Nov) and was a fantastic success. The 'Black Cats' hospitality bar, Stadium of Light and the match itself were all absolutely superb. In fact, everyone agreed to repeat the trip for Sunderland v Man United in May next year, although probably with NO overnight stay this time, so we will be travelling down and back in the same day. Keep watching the Latest News & message board for details in the next couple of weeks if you're interested.

Message board:
The message board is open to all members to post replies or start threads on any subject!..Follow the instructions on the message board page to post.

Newsletter:
Next newsletter will be sent Thursday 21 January 2010.

As this is the last Newsletter of 2009 we'd like to say a huge thank you to everyone for supporting the concept of the Fireaway Club. To have around 100 members after only starting up 12 months ago is unbelievable. In addition, the turnouts at the socials have been fantastic and we've no doubt 2010 will see the Club go from strength to strength.

Finally, if you're not going to make the Guildford bar this week have a great festive period and we'll see you in 2010.

regards
Colin, Davy, Frank
