The next meeting takes place this Thursday, 28th July, Guildford Arms bar, West Register Street, at 7:30pm. Socials are very relaxed, informal and held in the open bar area of the pub.
If you've missed the last few, or not been before, the May meeting is an ideal opportunity to drop-in for a pint.
A walk is being arranged in August across the Forth Road Bridge. Full details of the walk, when finalised, will be available via the Latest News page on the Fireaway website. Everyone welcome including non-members.
2) Leaving Function - Ruth Winters:
Ruth would like to invite all colleagues, past and present, to join her for a farewell drink on Saturday, 30th July 2016, from 6:30pm at West End Bowling Club, Hailes Street, Edinburgh.
1) Ian Smith
Sad news with the announcement of the death of retired colleague Ian Smith (aged 83) on Friday, 8th July 2016. Ian was a stalward of White Watch Sighthill until his retirement in the 1980's.
The funeral service was held on Tuesday 19th July at Warriston Crematorium in Edinburgh. More details, including a photo of Ian, are available via the Latest News on the website.
2) Ken Cameron
Sad news with the announcement of the death of former FBU General Secretary Ken Cameron on Monday, 16th May, 2016. The funeral took place in Glasgow on 31st May 2016.
1) The Photo Album page on the website has been updated with a couple of 'Old Watch/Brigade photos added.
