A walk around 'Penicuik Estate', followed by a pub lunch, has been arranged for Tuesday, 10th December 2019.
The walk is around six miles in length and takes in an old castle with views of the Pentlands, Lower Curling Pond, Penicuik House, a possible ranger led walk round Upper Pond, Chinese bridge, Roman bridge and walk along the North Esk. At the end oft the walk we'll have a pub lunch in Haigs bar, Penicuik.
Details are as follows:-
- 10:00hrs - Meet outside Crown Inn, Penicuik (buses 15, 37, 47 or 62x)
- 10:15hrs - Walk, Penicuik Estate (approx 6 miles)
- 14:30hrs - Pub lunch, Haigs bar, Penicuik.
If you're interested please add your name to the thread on the messageboard or send an email to firstname.lastname@example.org This will give an indication on who's likely to attend on the day.
The thread also allows for arrangements regarding car-sharing to be made. Everyone welcome including non-members.

Update 07/12/19 - David Rhind has passed on the following information:
"Anyone getting the 47 bus will have to get off at Lidl's store and then walk round to the Crown Inn as the 47 goes up Kirkhill. For information, the Ranger is off sick so unable to get tour round Upper Pond, also the Chinese bridge is getting renovated so I'll take the group up to Folly instead
