"Sad news today with the report that Barclay Blair, ex Dunbar retained, died yesterday morning, Tuesday 25th May.
Barclay had been ill for some time but prior to retirement he had been a drayman with Bellhaven Brewery as well as providing fire cover at his local station.
In retirement, amongst other things, Barclay volunteered at the Museum of Fire at Lauriston and later when we moved to Maddiston he was heavily involved, along with his brother Kevin, in the restoration of a Green Goddess, which had been sitting out in the open at Bo’ness Fire Station for many years."
Kevin Blair, Barclay’s brother, has passed us the funeral arrangements and asked we circulate the undernoted details:
"After a long illness, and various stays in hospital, my brother Barclay Blair passed away last Tuesday (25th May). Barclay served, at Dunbar, from March 1980 till August 2001 when he retired due to ill health.
His funeral is on Tuesday, 8th, June at 11:00, in Belhaven Church and interment thereafter at Deerpark Cemetery, Dunbar.”
